Pictosso creates a personalized memory artwork: a minimalist, icon-based timeline printed on premium paper and delivered in a ready-to-hang wooden frame. The timeline represents a chapter of your life — personal or professional — structured as a visual story using a library of hundreds of custom-designed icons.
At a glance, it is a beautiful piece of wall art. But it is more than decoration: it is a record of real moments, made visible and structured.
Every Pictosso has a small QR code printed at the bottom left of the frame. Scanning it with a phone opens a private digital gallery — a layered version of the timeline where each icon links to its attached memories: photos, videos, voice notes, written messages and music. The digital experience is private by default and controlled by the owner.
Pictosso is primarily a personalized memory artwork. Within that, it serves two main use contexts:
Relationships, family milestones, personal journeys — any meaningful period of a private life that deserves to be preserved as a visual story. Common occasions include wedding anniversaries, milestone birthdays, and personal life chapters shared with a partner or family.
Career milestones, team journeys, company histories — professional chapters captured as artwork and gifted between colleagues. Common occasions include work anniversaries, employee farewells, retirement celebrations and team tributes.
A photo book is a collection of photos in print form — passive, without structure or interactive layer. A canvas print is a single image at scale — decorative but not personal in the Pictosso sense.
Pictosso is distinct in three ways: (1) it uses icons, not photos, as the primary visual layer — creating a minimalist, graphic representation of the chapter rather than a photographic record; (2) it is interactive — the QR code unlocks a full media layer; (3) it can receive contributions from multiple people, making it a collective memory object rather than a single-creator work.
Chapter Pictosso: a fixed timeline of a completed chapter. You build it, order it, receive it. The physical artwork reflects the chapter as created at the time of ordering. The digital gallery can be updated after delivery.
Living Pictosso: an ongoing timeline that continues to grow. New icons and memories can be added over time. The physical artwork can be reprinted at any stage to reflect the current state of the story.
Pictosso was founded in 2021 by Alexandre Perrot, a data visualization developer who previously worked for PlayStation. The product was born from his desire to apply the principles of data visualization — structure, meaning, visual narrative — to personal memory. Pictosso is designed and shipped from Europe.
