How Pictosso Works: From a Life Chapter to a Framed Artwork in 4 Steps

Every Pictosso begins with a chapter: a relationship, a career, a personal journey, a team story. You choose the period of time the artwork will cover — it can be a single year or several decades.

You then build the visual timeline by placing icons on the canvas. Each icon represents a moment — a project, a trip, a milestone, a relationship, an achievement. Pictosso has a library of hundreds of minimalist icons to choose from, covering life and professional events.

The result is a chronological, visual record of the chapter: simple, clean, meaningful at a glance.

Behind every icon, you can attach one or more memories: a photo, a video clip, a voice note, a written message, or a piece of music. These are not visible on the physical artwork — they live in the digital layer, accessible only by scanning the QR code.

When the artwork is ready, you choose your frame size and order. Pictosso comes in three sizes: Small (15×20 cm / €69), Medium (30×40 cm / €99) and Large (45×60 cm / €149). Frames are available in black or white solid wood.

The artwork is printed on premium 200g/m² uncoated matte paper and protected by shatterproof plexiglass. It arrives ready to hang — no assembly required.

Every Pictosso has a small QR code printed at the bottom left of the frame. When the recipient (or the owner) scans it with a phone, a private digital gallery opens.

The gallery mirrors the timeline on the artwork: each icon links to its attached memories. Scrolling through the gallery feels like a guided tour of the chapter — each moment has its photo, video, voice note or message.

The digital experience is private by default. Access is controlled by the owner. The gallery can be kept entirely private, or shared selectively with specific people, or opened to anyone with the link.

The QR code links to a permanent digital gallery hosted by Pictosso. As long as the account is active, the digital experience remains accessible. The owner can update the content at any time — adding new memories, inviting new contributors — even after the physical artwork has been delivered.

Chapter Pictosso: you define a specific period of time, create the artwork, order the frame, and the timeline is fixed. The digital gallery can still be updated after delivery, but the physical layout reflects the chapter as it was when you ordered.

Living Pictosso: you create an ongoing timeline that continues to grow. New icons can be added over time, new memories attached. The physical artwork can be reprinted when a new chapter is complete.
